Nintendo wants you to watch TV with them.
Nintendo TVii was announced at the Nintendo press conference in New York today. Nintendo TVii will be packaged with every Wii U purchased, and free to use although some services tied into it (such as Netflix) will require a subscription. Nintendo TVii will only be available in the United States and Canada when the service is launched initially, although Nintendo has stated it will be made available to other countries in the future.
Users will be able to use the Wii U GamePad to control what you see on screen as well as interact with your friends. Users will be able to chat, take polls, and see what your friends are watching.
So far, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant, Facebook and Twitter have been confirmed to support Nintendo TVii.
